We live in Atlanta in one of the city's intown neighborhoods. As soon as we were well on our "wait", Carolyn and her nose for stuff began a search for other families with young children, play groups, day care and the like. Before long she had encountered and met several other families waiting for their new daughters from China and a few families that had already returned from China - all within walking distance from our house!
Carolyn also met a very nice woman from Shanghai. She has been living in the U.S. for over 10 years and, in her spare time, teaches Chinese (Mandarin) and also does some Chinese cultural education. In the "waiting for travel" phase of our journey we and three other families met weekly to learn more about China and actually learn some Chinese!
