Being the absolute center of attention for all of her new life, we knew Emma would have some adjusting to do. We started talking to her about Camilla from the beginning (in the beginning, Emma called her Gorilla Grace). We talked about her new baby sister, that she wound become the "big" sister and got her excited about all the things she would be able to teach her new little sister. As she outgrew clothes and toys we talked to her about saving them for Camilla. She loved putting things away for her "baby sisser" - so much so, she would go through things that weren't ready to be handed down, or sometimes we'd be at the grocery store when she would insist on getting something for "gorilla grace", like laundry detergent and other useful things. We talked to her about Camilla almost every day. At times, out of nowhere, Emma would become sad and when we'd ask what was making her sad, she'd burst into tears and say "I want my baby sisser now." It really pulled on our heart strings, but we believed it really helped her to start having strong feelings about Camilla. However, she soon discovered that this particular display really got our attention and she, at times, played it pretty good, like when she'd get in a pickle because she didn't mind, or because she broke a rule - when she realized the was getting negative attention, on would come the tears and "I want my baby sisser now"...
